Free Library Skills Education Since 1998

Interested in careers available at your local Library but have no education in this sector?

Fear not, there is quality online self-directed education available for you to refer to right now!

Please be sure to check out the "ABLE" and "SABLE" programs published by the Idaho Commission for Libraries.

ABLE stands for Alternative Basic Library Education

You can find out more via this web address:

http://libraries.idaho.gov/page/able

ABLE has been providing library basics for library staff world-wide since 1998. Over 5,000 ABLE Course Completion Certificates have been printed and distributed to individuals in 32 countries.

SABLE stands for Supplemental Alternative Basic Library Education

You can find out more via this web address:

http://libraries.idaho.gov/page/sable

The free, online Supplemental Alternative Basic Library Education (SABLE) program provides additional resources in library knowledge and skills for staff members who have no formal education in library science. This program is a supplement to the ABLE courses. The SABLE program is not designed to replace university level training in library science and no college credit is offered.

All in all, the quality of education within these two programs is fantastic. Check out the screen shots from both programs found below and we hope you enjoy further reviewing what's available via the above web addresses.
